Live Logistics & Dispatch Dashboard

Dispatchers see every vehicle and job on one live map. Drivers update status from a mobile web view, and customers get tracking links.

Overview

What it is

A dispatch console for delivery and field-service fleets. One live map shows vehicles, jobs and ETAs; drivers update status from a lightweight mobile web view; customers follow their delivery from a tracking link.

The problem

Why it was needed

Dispatch ran on phone calls and spreadsheets. Nobody could see where vehicles were, customers kept calling for ETAs, and proof of delivery was scattered across chat messages.

Features

What We Built

Live map

Vehicle positions and job states update in real time.

Job assignment

Drag a job onto a driver, with route and ETA suggestions.

Driver web view

Large status buttons, navigation hand-off and photo capture.

Customer tracking

A shareable link with live status and ETA.

Proof of delivery

Photo, signature and timestamp stored with the job.

History and exports

Filter by driver, date or status and export to CSV.

Architecture

How It Fits Together

  1. Driver web viewlocation and status taps
  2. Node / Express APIjobs, drivers, auth
  3. Event streamSocket.io, batched writes
  4. MongoDBjobs, events, POD
  5. Dispatcher consoleReact + Mapbox
  6. Tracking pagecustomer link

Location pings are batched before they reach the database, so the live view stays fast as the fleet grows.
